Aurelio Iacolenna was born in Rome (Italy).

He studied piano, organ, composition, choir and orchestra conducting.

 

He has performed as a soloist in many countries of Europe and South America for very important musical organisations and moreover for International Festivals and Concert Seasons : Riga International Organ Festival, Zagreb Summer Festival, Festival di Spoleto, Società Barattelli, Kristiansand International Music Festival, Zagreb Philharmonija (Lisinski Hall), RAI-Italian Radio&TV, Festival Internazionale d’Organo di Roma, Accademia di Santa Cecilia-Roma, Napoli, Capri, Venezia, Novara, Messina, Perugia, L’Aquila, Strasbourg, Bucharest, London, München, Montevideo, Asunciòn, Saõ Paulo etc.

 

For more then twenty years he has collaborated, as an organist, with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia of Rome, also playing as a soloist under the direction of G.Prêtre, M.W.Chung, D.Gatti, G.Navarro, L.Foss, C.Thielemann, M.Rostropowitch, N.Balatsch, C.M.Giulini.

 

He has performed, as a guest conductor, with the Orchestra Simphonia Perusina, Chamber Orchestra of Rome Radio, Rottweil Kammerorkester, Orquesta Sinfònica de Asunciòn, Cicero Amsterdam Orkest, Orchestra Regione Umbria, Orchestra Barocca dell’AMR of Rome, Latvian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra “I Solisti Aquilani”.

 

Since 1978 he has been Professor at “A.Casella” State Conservatory in L’Aquila,where

he teached Music Theory and History and Analysis of the Lyric repertoire, and he has been

Member of the Academic Council of the L’Aquila Conservatory.

Since 2015 he is Professor of Music Theory and Ear training at "Santa Cecilia" Conservatory in Rome.

 

 

He has recorded several CDs of organ music and his compositions.

He has published his works for editions Carrara, Ludo, Armelin, EurArte

 

His concerts have been broadcast by RAI-Italian Radiotelevision (RAI1-RAI2- RadioUno-RadioTre), Bayerische Rundfunk, Jugoslowenska RTV, CBC Radio Canada, Korean KBS, RadioVaticana, Latvijas RTV, Israel Radio.

 

His name appears in the encyclopedic dictionary “Le firme dell’Organo”
